Old-School Sports Spirit, Back in the Game
Pep’s Sports started long before this website.
Back in 1979, my dad and his brother opened a real sporting goods store called Pep’s Sports in Nampa, ID. Both of them had the nickname “Pep,” and both of them loved sports enough to build a store around it.
The store only lasted a couple of years, but the spirit behind it stuck around.
Growing up, our life was pretty simple: faith, family school, and possibly (but not quite!) most importantly…sports. If we weren’t at home, church, or school, we were probably at a game, practice, or tournament somewhere. Add in some backyard whiffle ball, driveway hoops, swimming in the DIY pool dad built, Sunday roast dinners, Taco Mondays — yes, Mondays — and you get a pretty good picture of the Peppley family.
Sports were part of who we were.
My mom once counted how many basketball games she attended in a single season. With four boys, one girl, and my dad coaching at the local college, she went to more than one hundred games.
That was normal for us. A little wild, maybe. But normal.
Why We Brought It Back
Pep’s Sports is a nod to those old-school sports days: muddy cleats, gym bags, backyard catch, and kids who played whatever sport came next.
But this brand is not about trying to relive the past.
It’s about celebrating what those moments taught us.
Sports taught us teamwork, leadership, perseverance, dedication, and how to get back up after being knocked down. They taught us how to win with humility, lose with grace, and enjoy the game along the way.
At Pep’s Sports, we believe character is shaped in the moments we play, compete, and grow.
What We Make
Pep’s Sports creates retro-inspired sportswear for athletes, former athletes, sports families, coaches, fans, and anyone who still believes there’s something special about playing everything.
Our designs are fun, nostalgic, and personal without taking themselves too seriously. They celebrate multi-sport athletes, old-school competition, family sports memories, and the character-building moments that happen on fields, courts, tracks, diamonds, and driveways.
We’re an independent, family-owned small business carrying forward the spirit of a little sporting goods store from 1979, one retro sports design at a time.
Thanks for being here.
